The Chicago Yachting Association is a membership organization for groups in the greater Chicago marine community, such as yacht clubs, boat clubs, the coast guard, and others.

 The purpose of the Association shall be to foster greater coordination between the public and private sectors of the community and to provide a forum for organizations involved in the marine environment of the Greater Chicagoland Area. The forum will discuss issues, real or potential, whether they be federal, state, county, local government, or internal, which affect or may affect a part or all of the marine community of the Greater Chicagoland Area.
